Sommelier, Hotel Kämp

The Food & Beverage services in the hotel are extensive and  comprehensive. Our goal is to offer our guests experiences throughout the day. Our Brasserie  restaurant is inspired by French cuisine. Restaurant also serves sumptuous breakfast and classic  afternoon tea. With the help of accompanying Kämp Bar, these two create a restaurant experience  worth remembering. When it comes to meetings and events, we want to offer the best settings to  organize venues in Helsinki and make our guest´s events unforgettable one. 

Now we are looking for an experienced and passionate Sommelier to be part of our F&B team in  all aspects of the wine service in our restaurants and contribute to the development of our wine  lists.  

This position is permanent and part-time (average 90 hours / 3 weeks), starting flexibly as soon as  possible. As a Sommelier you work mainly part of the service team and additionally support the  team in serving wine in the restaurant and in our bar. You will recommend and sell wines to  customers both to complement their tastes and to pair with their menu choices. Our F&B  operations are open all year round and almost 24 hours a day, so you need to be prepared to work  in the evenings and holidays, as these are our busiest services. Developing our wine lists  according to the seasons and the need of our guests is also part of the work. We value the  knowledge of wine suppliers and the utilization of their cooperation, whether it is regarding the  development of our wine lists or the training of the team. 

You are the person we are looking for if you have previous experience as a Sommelier in a busy,  dining environment and delivering flawless, detailed service is important to you. We are looking for  someone who can combine the relevant experience with first rate communication skills. You will  have a solid understanding of both new and old-world wines, WSET or equivalent Sommelier  qualification is preferred. We appreciate the initiative to work, systematic and flexible attitude. You can communicate at least in English, preferably in Finnish also. The genuine interest of taking care  of our guests' unique events in accordance with the values of Hotel Kämp, putting your own person  in the game, is essential.
