Group bookings and events
Events taking place after 1.6.2021 will apply the usual cancellation conditions and rules.
In cases where the contract with the customer includes a list of specific events or circumstances and the list mentions an epidemic or pandemic as such a circumstance, the coronavirus can be considered a force majeure.
In cases where the contract with the customer contains a list of specific events or circumstances and the epidemic or pandemic is not specifically mentioned as such, the coronavirus is not considered a force majeure unless the authorities have specifically declared a ban on meeting in hotels (insufficient recommendation or guidance by the authorities - application of this rule).
The ban on holding public meetings and events announced by the Finnish authorities on 12 March 2020 does not per se apply to the day-to-day running of the hotel (ie room rental, breakfast, dinner, etc.) but to events for the public with more than 500 participants. The ban does not currently apply to private gatherings or corporate events (such as conferences that are not addressed to the public).
In cases where the contract with the customer includes a general force majeure, without specifying specific events or circumstances, or if the contract with the customer does not specify a force majeure, a corona outbreak is not considered a force majeure unless specifically prohibited by the authorities (hotel recommendation or guidance). there are insufficient grounds for applying the force majeure rule).
In cases where the contract with the customer unilaterally defines the force majeure only by the hotel or does not define it at all, the customer cannot invoke the force majeure.
Security in our hotels
The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority. To minimize the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Nordic Choice Hospitality Group incl. Kämp Collection Hotels has taken measures to maintain the safety of our customers, staff and the public.
We have summarized below the measures we have initiated and the conditions for cancellation of a special situation due to a coronavirus.
All hotels owned by Nordic Choice Hospitality Group follow the recommendations, guidelines and regulations of the health authorities in all six countries where we operate our hotels and restaurants. We are constantly following the recommendations of the health authorities and updating our policies accordingly.
We are especially vigilant and strictly follow safety instructions to ensure the health of our customers and staff. Our facilities and services are safe for our guests, as we strictly follow the instructions and regulations set by the authorities.
Should a situation arise where we have reason to suspect that our client or employee has contracted a coronavirus (COVID-19), we will follow the instructions provided by the health authorities. We have also entered into an agreement with a security company (SEMAC) from which we will provide guidance to hotel management in the event of a suspicion of a coronavirus on our premises.
Procedures to minimize the risk of infection
- All our hotels follow a common action plan in the event of a possible infection
- We have received detailed instructions from the security company on how to act as a hotel operator in the event of an infection.
- Workers have been instructed to act appropriately in the prevailing situation and to act safely to avoid infection
- We refrain from shaking hands and avoid situations where people may be exposed to sneezing, coughing or the like.
- We have increased the use of disinfectant rinses and disinfectant sprays
- We urge our employees and customers to take special care of hand hygiene
